What about Ong Lang?
Ong Lang is better treated as a quiet west/north-leaning base, not central Phu Quoc.
Ong Lang is not central Phu Quoc. It is a quieter west/north-leaning beach area.
If you stay in Ong Lang, you can still follow much of the central itinerary, but remember:
- north island is easier from Ong Lang than from the south
- Sunset Town and the 4 island tour are farther away
- evenings are quieter, so plan transport if you want night markets or shows
For a 3-day trip from Ong Lang, I would usually do:
Day 1: check-in, beach, sunset dinner around Ong Lang or a light Duong Dong evening
Day 2: 4 island tour, snorkeling and Cable Car
Day 3: Starfish Beach, Safari, VinWonders or Grand World depending on your group
If you like fishing
Snorkeling or island hopping is still possible from Ong Lang, but transport timing matters.
If you like fishing, message me before finalizing the itinerary. I can add a fishing or squid fishing experience into the route depending on the season, weather and your hotel area.
Fishing works best when it is planned properly, not squeezed in as an afterthought.

Simple planning rule from Vu
For a 3-day trip, do not try to complete the whole island.
One big route per day is enough:
- one arrival/evening route
- one south island sea route
- one north island route
If you send me your hotel name, dates, group size and must-do activities on WhatsApp, I can tell you which route is realistic and what I would skip.
FAQ
Is 3 days enough for Phu Quoc?
Yes. Three days is enough for a first trip if you group the activities by area and do not try to rush everything.
Can I add fishing to a 3-day itinerary?
Yes. If you like fishing or squid fishing, message me with your dates and hotel area. I can suggest where it fits best.
