About this route: if you stay in north island
North island usually means Ganh Dau, Vinpearl, VinWonders, Safari or nearby resorts.
This area is very good for families who want resort time, Safari, VinWonders and Grand World. But it is far from the 4 island tour, Cable Car and Sunset Town, so the route should be planned carefully.
Day 1: arrival, resort time, Grand World or northern sunset dinner
Grand World is an easy evening stop for guests staying in the north island area.
After landing, I would keep the first day slow.
The drive from the airport to the north takes longer than to Long Beach or Duong Dong. After check-in, enjoy the resort beach, pool and family-friendly atmosphere.
For the evening, choose one of these:
Option A: Grand World
- dinner
- walking around the canal area
- cafes and live performances
- easy activities for kids
Option B: sunset dinner at the northern tip
Some northern beaches and restaurants have a very peaceful sunset atmosphere. On a clear day, from this side of the island you can see toward Cambodia across the water.
Day 2: Starfish Beach, Safari and VinWonders
The bamboo basket boat through the mangroves is a calm north island activity for both adults and children.
Use the second day for north island highlights.
A good family route:
- morning Starfish Beach or Rach Vem area
- basket boat through the mangrove forest, or kayak in the mangroves if you like paddling
- Safari while the weather is still comfortable
- VinWonders in the afternoon or evening if your group wants theme park time
- Grand World for dinner if you did not go on day one
If your children are young, do not force both Safari and a full VinWonders day. Choose the pace that keeps the trip fun.
Day 3: 4 island tour, Cable Car and Sunset Town show
VinWonders can be a full theme park day, especially for families staying near Vinpearl.
If you stay in the north and still want the 4 island tour, I suggest doing it as one big south island day.
That means:
- early pickup from the north
- speedboat snorkeling and island stops
- Cable Car and Hon Thom
- stay in Sunset Town for dinner, Vui-Fest Bazaar and evening show with fireworks
- return to the north after the show
This is a long day, but it saves money and time compared with driving from north to south on separate days.
If your group does not want a long south island day, choose a central evening instead:
- Duong Dong Night Market
- local seafood dinner
- short town walk
- beach bars with fire dance around 10 PM if your group still has energy
- return north earlier

Fishing works best when it is planned properly, not squeezed in as an afterthought.

One big route per day is enough:
- one arrival/evening route
- one south island sea route
- one north island route
